The President of Rotary Club International, Sakuji Tanaka yesterday as part of his visit to Ghana visited the La Wireless Early Childhood Centre in Accra to inspect the on-going GHc 106,000 project in the school.

The purpose of the project is to provide a kindergarten within the La Wireless Cluster of Schools, as well as early childhood training for the children in the community prior to getting them into primary one to ensure a sound foundation before enrolment.

He donated books to the school to aid in the education of the Kindergarten children in the school.

The project include the provision of a classroom, sanitary facility, an office, a sleeping room, pantry and a play ground and the furnishing of the facility and the library facilities in the school.

Jonathan Adjetey, the President of the Accra North Rotary Club, said the effort was to complement what the Ghana Education Services (GES) was doing to provide a two year kindergarten education for all public schools.

He said it was also aimed at assisting the La community with the necessary pre-school facilities for the benefit of their children.

“We have learnt that this project has been adopted by Ghana Education Service as model to be replicated across schools all over the country,” he stressed.

Doreen Owusu Fianko, the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company, said the company got involved in the project as past of their corporate social responsibility.

She called on other organisations to get involved in such projects help in the development of children in the society.

The Circuit Supervisor of the Adobetor Circuit of GES, Safura Osumanu, who received the books on behalf of the school, said she would do all in her power to ensure that the items received are put into good use.
